Development Workshop

Grammar & Language Teaching
June 19 - 21, 2004 at UC San Diego

This workshop will address three interrelated questions:

(i)- How does grammatical ability develop in second language learners?

(ii) To what extent can explicit grammar instruction influence this development?

(iii) What concrete techniques can teachers use to promote the rapid development of grammatical ability?

Presentations on these topics will be supplemented by demonstration classes and discussion groups where participants can make use of techniques from the workshop to present ideas for lessons that address problems in their particular languages.
